Filaments.gg compares filament by exact variant and price per kilogram, linking every price to the page it came from. This page describes the two programs that read retailer and manufacturer sites, in case you found one of them in your logs.

Who

Two programs. The price collector reads the price on a product page we list. The catalog ingester reads a manufacturer's public storefront catalog to learn which colours and spool sizes exist.

How often

One request per listed product page per day, off-peak. A storefront catalog at most once per day, with a pause between pages.

Permission

We email every retailer once before reading any price. If you say no, we never read your prices. If you say nothing for 30 days, the once-a-day reading begins and stops the moment you ask.

robots.txt

Honoured literally, using the token filamentsgg or the * group. If your robots.txt cannot be read, we treat that as a no.

What we never do

Log in, place orders, read anything behind a login or bot check, retry under a different name, or use proxies or scraping services.

What we keep

Facts: product names, colours, diameters, spool weights, prices, stock, and the link back to your page. No descriptions, images, or marketing copy.

To stop us, or to set terms

Reply to our permission request, or write to the address in the User-Agent string ([email protected] by default). A refusal takes effect on the next run and is permanent. If you offer a product feed or an affiliate programme, we would rather use that.
